Lady Jane’s Haircuts for Men, A great Business Plan and a Fantastic Place to get a Haircut…

Today were going to be talking about Lady Jane’s Haircuts for men. If you check this site there’s no advertising for them so I have nothing to gain other than telling you what a good business it is and what a great place it is to get a haircut.

If you’re a dude and your not bald there really is no reason not to go here. Sure you could go to great clips and get your hair cut by a 220lbs, middle aged women who will tell you about her cats as she cuts your hair. But why not go to Lady Jane’s and get a whole lot more for the same price if not a bit cheaper.

You’ve probably got a Sports Clips in your area and that’s supposed to be a haircut place geared towards men but really all it is; is a Great Clips with a flat screen television in the waiting area.

Lady Jane’s is a cool little spot to get a haircut. The waiting area has a pool table, though I doubt it will ever be used it’s still pretty cool. They also have about a dozen lazy boy chairs in front of several flat screens playing sports or ESPN. I just watched the Bears game while getting my haircut this afternoon.

When you go back to get your haircut you can continue watching the game because each barbers chair has it’s own small flat screen television to continue watching the game. They give a great haircut too.

After your haircut you get a hot towel and a  straight razor shave on your neck and sideburns which gives a really clean look to your haircut.

After that you are taken back for a shampoo, conditioning and a scalp massage which is great. Their shampoo and conditioner are great and really tingle your head.

After your shampoo, conditioning and scalp massage they take you back to the barbers chair, clean up some lines, put some product in your hair and your on your way.

My only complaint about this place would be the up sell. I know everyone does it from McDonald's to Best Buy to a Car Dealership but it’s tougher to resist when some hot chick is up selling you.

After my first visit or two to Lady Jane’s I was hanging out with my roommate and a buddy of mine joking with them about how the middle aged men who come in to ogle the girls always wind up leaving with an armful of $20 bottles of shampoo, conditioner and specialty gels. My roommate then commented on how “didn’t I see a green bottle of Rock Star Green Tea Hair Paste in your bathroom? Was that from Lady Janes?”

Yes I was suckered into buying a product as well…lol. That was on my first visit though, since then I haven’t been hit with the up sell to buy anything else. I also really don’t blame them for trying to up sell you. Your getting your haircut plus a whole lot of extras other discount hair cut places don’t offer but your paying the same price if not slightly less so I don’t really begrudge them for trying to make a little extra off of you. Like I said though, after a visit or two they won’t try to sell you on product unless you inquire about something and are actually interested.

The whole Gentlemen’s Barber Shop concept has been done before but Lady Jane’s really hit the mark. Sport Clips though slightly more expensive does have a decent price point but missed the mark on this concept and is basically a Fantastic Sam’s with a few TV’s.

There are other Gentlemen’s Barbershops where you can go get a straight razor shave and enjoy a cigar and a Gin & Tonic but at $40 plus per visit it’s a bit steep for myself.

Lady Jane’s really hit the mark offering a great experience at the same price point or lower than other discount haircut joints like Great Clips and Fantastic Sam’s.

I thought this business was worth writing up as it’s a great way to save a buck on your haircut, I thought our readers would enjoy the experience at Lady Jane’s, and finally this is a site about Business and Entrepreneurship and I think Lady Jane’s has a fantastic business model.

Have you gotten your haircut at Lady Jane’s? What did you think? We’d love to hear about it, leave a comment in the comments section below.
