Any time there's a hot new product or industry, it's like a gold rush, everyone wants to rush in and make money.

There's no doubt that Hoverboards are the hottest Christmas gift item of the year and there's no doubt there's money to be made but be aware of the potential downfalls of this industry.

1. It's a high Dollar item. Holding inventory will be costly. It's also risky if demand drops off.
2. The technology and quality on these is very poor. Sellers should expect about a 20% loss on bad inventory. 
3. Due to poor quality expect returns, credit card chargebacks and Amazon A-Z claims which will cost you money as a seller.
4. These products can be a liability. Not only if someone injures themself on a board but also the fire risk due to many of these batteries and chargers not having fuses. 
5. Some say the market is already saturated.
