Why Screencastomatic Is My Favorite Free Screen Recording Software

In this video I show you why Screen-Cast-Omatic is my favorite video recording software. I've tried out EZVid, Microscoft Screen Encoder and Capture and several other programs. Microsoft was my goo to for a while but the additional step of encoding videos was slow and the entire program made my computer run slow while recording screencasts.


I don't know why I didn't try screencastomatic earlier but it's free, or at least there is a free version which is more than sufficient, it includes basically all the features you need and has a recording limit of 15 minutes which is typically more than sufficient. Many other free programs cap you at 5 minutes which to me isn't long enough.


If you're looking to get started making screen cast videos for Youtube or even if you just want to send a video to your grandma showing her how to open her email or some type of how to video for a friend of family member this is a great program.


I chose to download it, though technically you don't even need to download, it will work directly through your browser if you have Java enabled.


If you're looking for a screen recording software or program to me this is the best one out there. I'm planning on buying the paid version for no other reason than to get rid of the watermark.
