For those of you who don't know Pinterest is a super popular image sharing website and app. If used effectively it can it can be a great thing for brands or individuals. To individuals Pinterest is a cool platform is like digital window shopping cool and interesting images. To brands and companies Pinterest is a storefront where you can be createive in your demonstration of your product or service.
An image is THE most compelling way to showcase a product, service, or brand. A compelling image along with a compelling headline can be a great way to showcasse your product or brand. Here are three things you need to know if your trying to effectively push your brand on Pinterest.
Image
An image is obvious right, it is Pinterest after all. Just a beautful image or a great picture isn't enough though. There's a million beautiful landscapes and pictures all over the internet, you need more. You need an image that showcases a value, touches on people's emotions. An image of some current event or current trend can be effective as well. Other great signs of an image is that it will make someone happier, make someone laugh, make someone think, or just amaze someone. As for current events, just posting interesting or cool images of a current trend can get you tons of hits. During a new movie release of a cult classic, a star wars, hunger games, etc type movie

The Right Place At The Right Time
The timing of your Pin is critical. There are at various times throughout the day when Pinterest is more active. I really have no proof to back this up aside from personal experience, however I find the most active times on Pinterest is between 3pm and 5pm in the afternoons and between 8pm to 2am in the evening. I attribute the 3-5 to be people at work in the afternoon getting a little bored or trying to kill some time as well as high schoolers and college students getting out of school and hopping on the web.
In addition to timing in the sense of what time of the day to Pin, timing is also important in terms of the timing of your message. As stated earlier in this post trend and current events are a great time to Pin and get attention to your Pins. If your posting an image of The Hunger Games or something related you want it to be at the peak of popularity either just before or just after the release, not three weeks after the movie has already been out. Timing is important if your image has to do with a trend, fad, or current event.
