Driving Traffic Isn't Rocket Science - Two Simple Ways Beginners Can Drive Massive Traffic To Their Websites

I've been blogging for years and always thought driving traffic was dependent on complicated SEO strategies like link building, keyword density in articles, article submissions, and lots of stuff which quite frankly I felt was over my head.

For years I've been hearing people say content is key, don't worry about gaming the system and playing games with search engines, just come up with good content and the readers will come.

Recently I've finally accepted this concept and found some great success with just a couple very simple things even a beginner blogger can do. Here's what they are.

3 Easy Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Blog
3 Easy Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Blog

3 Easy Ways Beginners Can Drive Massive Traffice

Content

Content is key. Come up with well written and concise articles which people are interested in reading. Provide some value, teach people how to do something, explain something, answer a question many people have. Providing good content doesn't require any specific knowledge of SEO, just write good stuff and readers will come, others will pick up and syndicate your articles and you'll drive traffic. Believe me, don't get all hungup on complicated SEO strategy, worry about providing quality content.

Consistant Blog Posting

Years ago I worked really hard at my blogs. I wrote a lot of articles and began getting frustrated the traffic didn't come. This led me to do something stupid for years. Instead of focusing on building a lot of quality content on one blog, I began setting up dozens of blogs, throwing up some poorly written content or even PLR articles and hoping that quantity over quality would make me some money. This strategy definately did not work for me. I have many blogs I havn't touched in years which are getting no traffic so clearly that strategy failed.

Recently however I've been focusing on this blog, which has pretty much been sitting idle for a few years. Just for the past week or two I've been trying to post good quality and interesting content on a regular basis and honeslty after only a week or two I've noticed a pretty good spike in traffic.

Now don't just start churning out garbage articles just for the sake of posting, but if possible try to do an experiment for me, if your frustrated with the traffic your getting. Set a goal for a month to post a blog every day. After a month come back here and leave a comment and report back to us how this has worked out for you. I can't gurantee you a million hits a month, however I can gurantee you'll see a significant spike in traffic and readership.

Social Media Posting/Bookmarking

You may hear people use the term social media bookmarking. This basically just means sharing your posts on social media. So why is this a good thing? Well first it can lead to backlinks. It leads to potentially other people on sical media sharing your post with their family and friends and potentially bringing you all new readers, and lastly anyone who sees your post has a chance at clicking your link and visiting your site and/or reading your article.

This does require a bit of work on your part. First you should setup social media accounts on every major platform such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. You should also engage with others on those platforms, ideally people with your same interests or in your niche so they are interested in the stuff yo upost. Enagage people. What I mean by this is either start a Facebook group or Join one. Interact with others, have debates, discuss things, and not only will this give you ideas for articles you can write but if you post them in those groups those people will likely be interested and give them a read.

This is a great way to introduce people to your blog or website and a great way of sharing and getting others to share your writing.

As I stated at the begining of this post. This is not rocket science. YOu don't have to be an SEO expert to do these things, any beginner blogger should be able to do these simple things and I think you'll be amazed at how much more traffic you get to your site implementing these simple things.

Photographer Profiles Millenial "Boomerang Kids" Who Move Back Home After College

We here so much talk about todays generation graduating from college and entering the workforce. We are always hearing about how this generation is lazy, immature, not self reliant. Though there may be some truth to that today is a much  different world than in the past.

Regardless of where you lean on this issue, the photography is well done and does a great job at illustrating these "kids" lives and situations in a snapshot.

Photographer Damon Casarez was sleeping on his parents couch after moving home after college due to struggling to keep up with student loan debt. Feeling sympathy and knowing what it's like he started a photo series called "Boomerang Kids" in which he profiles these kids lives.

The series shows a photo of a "Boomerang Kids" life along with a brief bio.

You can view the series HERE or in a photo spread on Mashable HERE

Earn Cash Back, Frequent Flyer Miles, Or CC Rewards With BlueBird & Vanilla Reload Cards

Okay, so this isn't as good as the US Mint Credit Card Hack from a few years ago but a quick easy way to make some money or rack up some rewards or frequent flyer miles. In this post we will teach you how to rack up credit card rewards, frequent flyer miles, or make an extra $200 a month with Cash Back from a Wells Fargo 5% Cash Back card or other cash back cards.

This doesn't take much time, less than an hour. After that maybe a half hour a month recurring to do this each month. This doesn't take much time or money but you can earn free vacations or even cash back. There are however 4 requirements you will need to meet...
Earn Credit Card Miles Hack

The Requirements...

1. Must have a social security number and reside in the USA.
2. Must have good credit, preferably 720 or higher, though possible to get other cards with lower scores.
3. Checking account or savings account with "BillPay" or "ACH Transfer" ability
4. Need to have a CVS, Walgreens, 711, or other stores that sell "cash cards" and can be reloaded with a credit card.

What To Do...

1. Apply for a Wells Fargo 5% Cash Back Credit Card...

This card gives you 5% cash back for grocery, drug store, gas, and a few other purchases for six months. This card is meant for those with higher credit scores. There are some other cash back cards and you can earn credit card rewards, miles or points on but make sure it's a high earning card. If you have a card that does not offer good rewards you will actually wind up losing money due to the few fees that are involved in buying the reloads and paying bills as often time paying bills with cards adds a small surcharge. If you're denied by Wells Fargo applying online you can call on the phone and generally get a quicker decision. Once you have confirmation you've been accepted to the card you can move on to the next step.

2. Apply for American Express Bluebird Card:

You can often buy a starter pack at Walmart for a few bucks, but it's just as easy to buy one online and wait for it in the mail, shouldn't take longer than a week max. This card doesn't pull your credit for an approval so you won't have your soft credit dinged any points as you would applying for a real credit card. You do however need a social security number, probably due to Frank/Dodd and Anti-Money Laundering Policies but you're credit won't be pulled and you won't be dinged. It basically just allows them to validate your identity.

3. Now that you have the Wells Fargo Card and the Bluebird card in your possession go to any one of the stores that qualify as a drugstore, gas station, or grocery store and buy Vanilla Reload cards with your 5% Wells Fargo Credit Card. It's important that these are Vanilla Reload cards and NOT One Vanilla, My Vanilla or any other variations of the Vanilla brand. You may want to find a store which sells these cards prior to getting all this setup. The card should look like the pic below...

The Vanilla Reload cards are reload packs. They allow you to put cash onto many prepaid and other debit cards. They do have a $3.95 charge per card and you can only load a max of $500 on each card. The tough part is locating a gas station, drug store, or grocery store that allows you to purchase the Vanilla Reload cards with Credit Cards. Many of them will only accept cash or will take a card but only debit. Once you find a location which will allow you to use credit cards buy them with your Wells Fargo 5% cash back card.

It will depend on your credit limit and how much a store will sell you. Buy as many as you can up, you max out at $5,000 per month.

4. Now you have Vanilla Reload cards. Visit VanillaReload.Com adn enter the unique 10 digit PIN number into the box. You will find it on the back of the Vanilla Reload card after you scratch it off like a lotto ticket. After doing this enter your 15 digit BlueBird card number. BlueBird will allow $5,000 per month to be loaded and a $1,000 daily limit. This will take you a min of 5 days to accomplish.

5. You now have $5,000 loaded onto your BlueBird card. Go to the "settings" tab on the upper right hand corner and link it to your bank account. You can do this as soon as you get your card as well. Once it's linked you can transfer the entire $5,000 from your BlueBird account that you recieved by buying the Vanilla Reloads to your bank using the "Withdraw Funds" link/feature.

*Some people have been shut down either by Bluebird or their Credit Card company by doing the direct transfer of funds to your bank account. To fly under the radar you may want to instead use your BlueBird card to pay bills, pay your taxes. Though many bills will not allow you to pay with a Credit Card most will allow you to pay with a debit card for a small fee of $3 or $3 vs 2% or 3% which is generally waht you'll be charged to pay bills by card, if they allow payment by credit card at all. It's up to you if you want to take the easy/lazy way and transfer to the bank or if you want to pay your rent and other bills with the debit card.

6. Last step here. Now you have $5,000 in your bank account. Use Billpay or ACH to pay off the $5,039.50 balance on your Wells Fargo 5% cash back card. The reason your paying $5039.50, even though you only loaded $5,000 is because you pay $3.95 per load. This is also why you want to make sure you have a card where points are at least valued at a penny or more, because you're paying about 0.8 cents per mile you earn. If you have a poor earning card you will lose money. If you have a good earning card you will be earning about 0.2 cents per Dollar spent and come out ahead. This is what you will have completed...

1. $5,039.50 Charged on Wells Fargo 5% Cash Back Card for Vanilla Reloads.
2. $5,000 moved from Vanilla reloads to BlueBird.
3. $5,0000 moved from Bluebird to bank account.
4. $5039.50 moved from bank account to pay off Wells Fargo 5% Credit Card.

You're now left with...

1. $5,039.50 credit card balance paid off.
2. 5% rebate of $5,039.50 which comes to $251.98, subtract the $39.50 you paid for 10 Vanilla Reload cards.

Total Monthly Gain: $212.48

Couple Other Things To Consider...

1. No reason to, but don't inform the cashier you are buying the Vanilla Reload cards for what you are doing. If they realize it's easy money they may hoard the cards for themselves.

2. Finding these cards can be a challenge. I'm surprised how hard it is to find these cards. I do find them at a few different CVS locations near my home though. If you get a rapport with a cashier they will sometimes save the cards for you when they come in, be nice and bring them a coffee or something.

3. Not sure how this is taxed if at all. You should do your own research. I'm under the impression this is considered a discount and not taxable income but I suppose all income earned is ordinary income at the least.

4. This sounds somewhat complicated but it's very easy and simple. This type of earning is referred to as arbitrage. It normally takes me 2 minutes to drive to the CVS by my home and buy $5,000 worht of cards. A couple minutes everyday for each reload. Basically less than an hours worth of work for $212.48. Do you make that at your job? the toughest part will be locating the cards and a store who sells them.

Wrapping Up:

Your not gonna get rich off this but at the same time hard to not take advantage of $1,275 over a 6 month period with basically 2 hours worth of work.

Trying To Market Your Product Or Brand On Pinterest? 3 Things You Must Understand

Pinterest, you've probably heard of it and maybe you've checked out the site or played with the App. It still seems however, that though gaining popularity quickly it's not something everyone has used, and it's not something those of us who have used it fully understand so today were going to be talking about Pinterest, and 3 things you need to know before promoting your product, service, or business on Pinterest. Pinterest can be an incredible tool for marketing your business.

Don't Make These 3 Ebay Mistakes - A Guide For Ebay Newbies

DO NOT...

1. Get Involved In Bidding Wars.

This is one of the biggest beginner mistakes one can make on ebay. Continually bidding on the same item over and over in a frenzy to stay a penny ahead of your competition of bidders. Though real live auctions work like this ebay doesn't, or at least shouldn't. Those who win auctions and at good prices are those who time their first or second bids close to the close of the auction. Once you get a little more ebay savvy you may also want to look into using auction sniper tools which are an automated way for you to place a bid a penny above your competitor tenths of a second before an auction ends leaving other bidders no time to come over the top of you.

Maximize Your Google Adwords Campaigns With These 3 Simple Tips

1. Double check your URL links on  your campaigns and ads. Make sure your directing people to the correct pages. This may seem like a no brainer but I actually had a professional Adwords manager working for me who spent over $300 on clicks sending people to a dead page.

2. Re-evaluate your campaigns. After you've been up and running for a while re-design ads with low CTR's. Google will automatically disable keywords with low CTR's, I believe the thresh hold is generally around 0.5% or lower

3. Use mispellings of keywords.

3 More Tips To Get The Most Out Of Your Google Adwords Campaign

1. Continue adding keywords and keyword groups as you think of them or as Adwords suggests them to you.

2. Use the pause ad group feature to pause your campaigns as you play around with keywords, ad text or as you try out new ad campaigns to limit the amount of money you spend.

3. If your campaign is something that could be bought as a gift ramp up your efforts during Holiday Seasons. Many people report seeing a dramatic increase in clicks and even better conversion rates as well. More people are buying gifts and other products at these times. These can be your most lucrative months.

Again...3 More Tips To Get The Most Out Of Your Google Adwords Campaigns

1. Test multiple ads at the same time. Google Adwords will let you run two different ds with your keywords. This will allow you to compare how each performs. You should keep and use the ad with the higher CTR and replace the other ad with a different ad.

2. Try different things and adjust the ad copy as you go. You should constantly be tweaking and changing your ad copy as well as your keywords finding what works and when you find what works stick with it but continue testing other ad copy and other keywords. Adwords is constantly changing, be on top of the changes.

3. Limit Your Cost Per Click. Until you know what you are doing and are more comfortable with Adwords stick with a low cost per click or CPC, say under 0.10 cents.

3 More Tips To Get The Most Out Of Your Adwords Campaign

1. When first starting out, begin with a low daily budget such as $5. This is a way to figure out what your doing and see if Google Adwords is even effective for your product or website without spending a ton of money.

2. Put a lit of relevant keywords together before you get started crafting your ads.

3. Use key phrases not just generic terms.

3 Tips To Get The Most Out Of Your Google Adwords Campaigns

1. Make sure you always are including both plural as well as singular versions of your keywords.

2. If you want to have a higher CTR us the exact keyword matches by putting your keywords in square brackets. This is a tip I picked up from a guy I was paying to manage my Adwords account for me a while back. When you do this your ads will not appear for searches including other keywords.

3. Use Negative Keywords. I'm surprised how many people running their own Adwords campaigns don't even know about negative keywords. Use negative keywords for terms that are not relevant to your promotion. This will give you so much more control over who sees your ads and who doesn't. By doing this you won't be paying for clicks that are unlikely to result in a sale or sign-up.

My Five Favorite Things About Google's Blogger As A Blogging Platform

1. Easy to setup, have your .blogspot domain name setup, your blogs template and look setup and be blogging in minutes.

2. A large writers community setup. Blogger is huge, there's plenty of other bloggers and your part of a community of bloggers. You can peruse others blogs as well as have others check out your blog.

3. Other Google products tied in with Blogger because it's a Google product. Because blogger is part of your Google account it easily links up with Google Analytics, Feedburner, Youtube, and Google Adsense.

4. Easy to monetize. With a few clicks of your mouse you can have your blog monetized and contextual ads running. Not the best way to run Adsense as you lack the ability to fully customize ads and track with channels but great for a beginner blogger looking to monetize their blog.

5. Makes the blogging process easy. No need for HTML or CSS coding knowledge though you can customize and improve your blog if you know coding. Everything is drag and drop, click of a button, and easy to use widgets.

Google profiles are a great way to build backlinks. If your working on your own as a blogger, running a website, or running a small online store by yourself make a profile by yourself. If you're part of a larger company have key employees, founders, and managers create profiles. Be sure to add links. Your links on your Google profile will NOT be no follow links, they will be followed.

Okay, so what is Google Places you ask? You know when your looking up "guitar shop san diego" and that Google map pops up with all the red dots showing all the guitar shops in the area, that's Google Places. Create a listing for your office or storefront. Use keywords involving your business in your description field of your profile. This is another great resource, powerful, easy, and VERY effective!!!

Foursquare

Personally i hate foursquare but none the less I encourage you to set up a Foursquare profile ass the link you associate with your account is followed.

Adwords Tips Series - 3 Tips For Adsense Success - Part Two

Here at RulesForRebels.Com were going to be doing a short series of posts titled “Adwords Tips For The Adwords Newbie” where we will share 5 tips a day on how to improve your adwords experience. Part Two

1. Remove Unnecessary and Common Words - You have very little space in your headline as well as in your overall ad. Make every word count, don’t clutter things up and waste space with unnecessary words like the, and, a, in, to, etc.  Unless the word is absolutely necessary for your ad to make sense cut it out.

2. “How” Is A Powerful Word - How is a very powerful word. Thinking about it, when we go to search the net it’s generally either for fun or to figure something out, find some information, or find out how to do things. Pretty much every home improvement project I begin starts with hopping on Google and searching HOW…to lay tile, how to install a garbage disposal, how to add vanity lighting, how to do can lighting, how to connect a stove. You get the point. You also tap into the people looking to make money online. How to start an online store, how to sell on eBay, how to get more traffic to my website. How is a powerful word people.

3. Should Your Company Name Be In The Headline Or Ad? - This is a hotly contested one. I was just debating this with a friend yesterday. He said these types of ads have almost no click through and you can’t argue with stats and facts however I think there’ some circumstances in which it’s appropriate.

If your Louis Vuitton or Victoria Secret your name alone will drive traffic. I agree if your business name is Tony Smiths T-Shirts don’t put your business name. Nobody knows Tony Smith or what his shirts are like. That space could be better used to say “T-Shirts Free Shipping” or “T-Shirts Funny Designs.” Adding your business name isn’t going to help you.

I do think there’s a few circumstances in which it could however. First would be sometimes someone may type your business name into the Google search bar after seeing it and visit your site on their own instead of clicking the ad which means you get the visit without paying for the click.

The other time I think having your business name in the ad or even in the title is if you are in a niche area. If you follow this site you know we like strange investments hoarding copper pennies, buying copper bullion and copper coins, foreign currencies, etc.

These are niche areas and there aren’t a lot of sellers out there. If I see a site like DinarTrade.Com, GetDong.Com, UtahCopperMine.Com in the title I know what they are selling and it also helps me differentiate one seller I may have already looked at from another seller as there aren’t many sellers of these things. The business name builds brand recognition but more importantly it also tells about the product. If a viewer can’t tell what your business does from the name however I would say it’s a waste of ad space.
